Central Coast Adventist School (CCAS) was established in 1969 by a small group of passionate individuals who dreamed of a Christian school on the Central Coast.
The school commenced in a small building on Mann Street with one teacher and just 18 students. In 1970, the campus was relocated to the current site at Erina on land donated by Fred Penrose. Though a semirural location at the time, this site is the heart of the Central Coast today.
While the school initially operated as a small Kindergarten to Year 10 campus, the School Board decided during the 1990s to offer the Higher School Certificate (HSC). As a result of that decision, enrolment numbers increased significantly, as families could commence and complete their children’s education at CCAS.
CCAS began a comprehensive building program to accommodate growing enrolments to design contemporary, inspiring and well-resourced learning spaces. The school’s 4.2 hectares have been developed into a modern campus, accommodating students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12. The outstanding facilities provide students with a broad range of opportunities and experiences.
Today CCAS has over 1,100 students enrolled and employs over 130 staff.
The campus is nestled in the heart of the Erina CBD, alongside Erina Fair Shopping Centre. The school is 8 stages into a 10-stage multi-million dollar building program. The first stage of the Sport Centre provides two full size basketball courts. There is a shared Library facility in the centre of the campus that contains not only books, but computer access, audio-visual access and tutorial areas. The Naomi Frew Memorial Hall, built in memory of Naomi Frew (an ex-student), currently functions as the venue for school chapels, assembly and performance events. A large sports oval is situated towards the bottom of the site.

Central Coast Adventist School (CCAS) is a ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Australia. We provide a Christian educational experience for students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church operates the most extensive Protestant school system in the world, including over 8,800 schools, colleges and universities, with over 106,000 teachers.
A School Council administers the school. The School Council has representatives from the local Seventh-day Adventist Churches that financially support the school, as well as the local church Pastor and representatives from the Seventh-day Adventist Schools (North NSW) Board of Directors.

16 April 2025 - Thrive Scholarship Applications close (11.59 pm). Please note that we cannot process incomplete application forms, and no late applications will be accepted.
15 May 2025 - Thrive Scholarship Test (all applicants need to be available for this).
10 - 13 June 2025 - Notification sent to all applicants. Shortlisted applicants booked for a panel interview.
24 - 26 June 2025 - Panel interviews for shortlisted applicants (applicants need to be available for this if required).
29 - 31 July 2025 - Notification sent to all shortlisted applicants. Successful Thrive Scholarship recipients notified.
Applying for a Thrive Scholarship
In 2026, there are Thrive Scholarship opportunities for students entering Year 7 and Year 11.
Thrive Scholarships may be awarded to a student who successfully completes the application process and can demonstrate a history of excellence in one or more areas. These areas may include various facets of school life, including but not limited to creative arts, technology, service, leadership, sport and academics.
- Applicants will be assessed on information provided in all sections of the application form, including references, school reports/records and responses to specific questions.
- Applicants must be available to sit the Thrive Scholarship Test on the scheduled day. Unfortunately, there can be no amendments to examination times.
- Shortlisted applicants will need to be available for a panel interview, if required, during the window of time scheduled.
Some Thrive Scholarships are only available to new students.

This could be shown in various ways, including writing, science and/or mathematics. Thrive Academic Scholarships reflect the school’s commitment to encouraging academic excellence.

The school is committed to providing relevant 21st-century focused education for all of our students. A vital element of that commitment is creating opportunities for students to demonstrate excellence in Creative Arts. This could be shown in a variety of ways through music, art, drama and/or technology. Thrive Creative Arts Scholarships are reflective of the school’s commitment to encouraging creative thinking and expression.

How to apply for a scholarship
- Applications must be submitted through the submission button below, active only from 03 February through 16 April 2025.
- Only Online applications are accepted.
- During the online application process, students will need to answer, in their own words, questions about their school experience.
- Payment of a $100 application fee is required at the time of registration.
- Applications close on Wednesday, 16 April 2025.
Examination
- The Thrive Scholarship test will be held on Thursday, 15 May 2025, at Central Coast Adventist School.
- Assemble at the Administration Office from 8:40 am.
- The examination will start at 9:00 am.
- Students should bring a photo ID to the exam (acceptable ID includes current school library card or passport).
- Students will sit an examination administered by an external examination company.
- Unfortunately, there can be no amendments to examination times. Applicants should ensure they have no conflicting commitments.
- The examination will conclude at 12:00 pm.
