In Junior School, we aim to provide a range of engaging and relevant learning opportunities and experiences, as appropriate for the student’s development. In the Early Years (Prep to Year 2), the focus is on exposing children to experiences and immersing them in an environment that stimulates curiosity and wonder about their world, their God and the people and practices around them. In Upper Junior (Year 3 to Year 6), the focus changes to developing control of skills and strategies to enable them to learn effectively and develop wholesome and God-honouring relationships, working towards independence.

In Middle and Senior School, students are engaged in an innovative one-to-one technology program which equips them with a personal digital device. They are using Apple iPads to research, collaborate and present their findings in class. They are using the technology to access the College’s learning management system where resources for all subjects can be shared and discussed. Teachers are creating tasks for students within the learning environment which, without iPads, were previously inconceivable.

We are proud of the consistently high academic achievements of our students. In 2013, our students performed above the state average in every category tested by NAPLAN. A third of students achieved an OP between 1 and 6.
NEW! Centre for Innovation and Creativity

Alongside our academic and vocational programs, rich learning opportunities arise through extensive co-curricular activities, faith-in-action missions trips, challenging camping programs, creative pursuits, overseas student-exchanges and sporting interests.

Discipleship happens in the classroom as well, where students explore the tenets of the Christian faith. But it doesn’t stop with facts and verses. Northside Christian College challenges its students to put action to their words and beliefs. They are encouraged to live lives that bring glory to God, care for His creation, and spread His love to the people around us.

Faith in Christ is seen as the foundation of life. Each student is provided with opportunity to understand the teaching of the Scriptures and to become a follower of
Jesus Christ in both belief and action. Faith is a way of life that impacts behaviour.

Students are provided with varied opportunities through classroom, co-curricular and pastoral care programs that
facilitate and inspire learning now, and encourage a desire to continue learning in the future.

Each member of the community is called upon to do their best in all circumstances and to maximise their God-given talents; our approach to teaching and learning interactions and relationships is characterised by a spirit of excellence.

We value the development of strong character through faith, training and experience, including the qualities of honesty, courage, resilience, humility, respect and responsibility.

We are a caring, learning, encouraging, faith-basedcommunity – focused around students, staff and parents, and extending to grandparents, sister-schools and other members of the wider community.
We work to intentionally raise up future leaders. Located in North Brisbane, Northside Christian College is a leader in Christian education, preparing students who will be transformational in their spheres of influence.
To make disciples of Jesus Christ, educated and equipped for any future.

At Northside Christian College our aim is to help students discover their God-given talents and offer them well-researched and God-inspired education and pastoral programs.

Design Thinking

Design Thinking is a Northside Christian College distinctive in Middle School. Implemented across the three years of Middle School, students engage in a cross-curricular program that is an intentional and creative approach to embedding thinking skills into our program. Year 7 students dive into Think Tank, where they experience the importance of trial and error on the road to eventual success. Year 8 students complete Design Dilemma, working together as they solve a challenge. Year 9 students have the option to complete an elective called Challenge-based Learning, a semester-long, student-initiated project that fosters autonomy and ownership.

The College currently provides five separate routes in the morning and six routes in the afternoon across the greater northern, eastern and western areas of North Brisbane.
