We are delighted to introduce you to Richard Johnson Anglican College.

RJ is a well-established, trusted, and successful K to 12 Anglican College located in the heart of Western Sydney. We offer authentic and affordable Christian education, where our dynamic Christian staff inspire students to discover their God-given potential and understand their purpose.

At RJ, we cultivate confident, reflective, and engaged learners through the highly regarded ‘Building Learning Power’ approach. This methodology helps students grow the five learning muscles: resilience, resourcefulness, reflectiveness, reciprocity, and relationship, preparing them to become better learners and future-ready individuals. We create a safe and supportive environment where students are encouraged to take risks in learning, to “have a go,” and embrace the concept of “failing forward.” We celebrate success as students face new challenges with confidence.

RJ seeks to connect hearts through meaningful acts of service, inspiring students to make positive differences in their community and beyond. We actively build a strong sense of community among students, staff, and families, ensuring everyone feels valued, connected, and has a strong sense of belonging to RJ.

Discover RJ

We are delighted to introduce you to Richard Johnson Anglican College, affectionately referred to as "RJ".

We create a safe and supportive environment where students are encouraged to take risks in learning, to “have a go,” and embrace the concept of “failing forward.” We celebrate success as students face new challenges with confidence.

RJ boasts a range of facilities designed to provide conducive learning environments both inside and outside the classroom. With air conditioned classrooms throughout and extensive covered outdoor areas, we are well placed for the Australian summer!

We offer a number of specialist learning areas for drama, hospitality, and science, and are particularly proud of our contemporary Junior and Senior School libraries, The Hive and The Hub respectively. Our modern Paul Cockrem Senior Learning Centre for Years 11 & 12 is outstanding and prepares our learners for life after RJ.

Our grounds are well landscaped with plenty of areas to gather and include an artificial turf sports field, play equipment, and a covered hard court. The College is close to local playing fields which are also used for sporting activities.

We offer a number of Co-Curricular activities to encourage the creative, physical, and mental capacities of our students. Together with a large number of service opportunities, our students leave RJ with well rounded skills, ready and able to make a positive contribution to the wider community.

RJ provides activities for students to develop their natural talents, discover new ones, and build their leadership capabilities. Our experience has been that whilst teachers provide pastoral care and leadership opportunities so our students can thrive, it is the RJ students themselves who contribute the crucial peer support and encouragement for each other. RJ students might stumble when trying new things but our environment makes this a safe place in which to "have a go". We work hard to maintain such an enabling and affirming culture.

RJ is also fortunate to have committed staff who can model Christian character, encourage positive relationships and ensure the well-being of students in their daily classroom and/or co-curricular experiences.

Respect and Care
RJ’s vision is to make a profound difference in the life of every student through the development of their character and identity in Christ.
RJ’s mission is to be a dynamic, caring Christian educational community, founded on the Lordship of Jesus Christ, to foster learning excellence.

Kiss & Drop/Parking Options

Parent Parking: The College does not provide parking spaces for parents onsite. Instead, parents are encouraged to legally park on the surrounding streets or at the nearby Plumpton Market Place or use the "kiss and drop" zones along Dryden Road, the Oakhurst Anglican Church, and the College Turnaround. Parents may only park in the shared Church carpark for a very limited time. However do not park in the area along the Child Care Centre/Op Shop unless you have a child also attending the Centre on the same day.

Afternoon Collections: All students should be collected before 3:40pm. Senior School parents may collect their children from any of the collection areas. However Junior School students are not to be collected from the Church Carpark's "kiss and drop" zone as this is Senior School use in the afternoons (although Junior School parents may park in the Church carpark and walk to collect their children from the Hard Court). Junior School parents are strongly encouraged not to arrive at the "kiss and drop" areas until after 3:25pm to allow time for their child /ren to arrive at the zone for a quick collection.

Gates: The College pedestrian gates are open from 7:45am to 9:00am and 3:00pm to 4:00pm. The College turnaround gate is open from 7:45am to 9:00am and 3:20pm to 5:00pm. Do not park in front of the gate waiting for it to open as it creates a safety risk for our students who are walking along the footpath. Please avoid arriving before 3:20pm to prevent queuing along Hyatts Road.

Dryden Avenue "kiss and drop": There is a short "No Parking" area along part of Dryden Avenue which is used as a "kiss and drop" zone. Parents may use this section to safely drop off and collect their child/ren within a 2 minute time-frame (normally from Year 2, unless accompanied by an older sibling). Parents are not to leave their car and escort their child to the gate in the mornings. In the afternoons, please display 'family signage' on the left windscreen of the car to assist handover: Family Signage Template

Meet Our Principal
Mr Alan Dawson

As a father of four grown children, I truly appreciate the benefits of a good education and the importance of choosing the "right" school for your child.

I have a passion for delivering
Authentic Christian education
for greater western sydney

I have the privilege of seeing God's hand at work in our College every day as we grow learners, connect hearts, and build community at RJ.

As a father to four grown children, I've seen firsthand the game-changing impact of quality education. Picking the perfect educational environment isn't just about academics—it's a catalyst for shaping values, boosting self-esteem, building confidence, and honing abilities. Indeed, choosing a 'private' school is a significant investment into their future.

RJ takes seriously the responsibilities of caring for each individual student. We actively cultivate confident, agile, reflective, and engaged learners and utilise the highly regarded 'Building Learning Power' educational approach. Our emphasis on values, learning, discipline, and wellbeing resonates well with our parent community as they see our students become well prepared for the future. Similarly, our core values of "Respect" and "Care for others" are not just slogans at RJ - they are at the heart of our College life.

RJ's effective Christian teachers have been purposely selected for their genuine commitment to excellent teaching practice and to be an inspiring role model to the RJ students. Our teachers aim to invest time and energy in each student’s life and to equip them for success.

We are deeply passionate about encouraging 'continual improvement' both in our students and in are staff. For RJ itself, this journey of improvement is evident in our Strategic Plan. To learn more, click here: Strategic Plan.

I truly believe RJ offers an excellent learning environment in which our students can develop a real sense of belonging, serving and succeeding.
