A Salesian education is a journey that draws its inspiration from the spirituality and educational principles of our founder, St John Bosco.

A Salesian education seeks to recapture, in contemporary ways, the original spirit of Don Bosco’s first “Oratory” in Turin, Northern Italy. Hence, Salesian College endeavours to be a “home” that welcomes, a “parish” that evangelises, a “school” that educates for life, and a “playground” where friends meet and enjoy themselves.

Our boys are accompanied on their journey by competent professional educators, who offer a host of academic, spiritual, social, cultural and sporting opportunities to enable our students to develop their gifts, achieve personal excellence and prepare for the future with hope and confidence. A Salesian education provides our boys with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to become fine young men, who will be able to engage with the world as “active citizens and good Christians”.

Sports Academy Program

Over the years we have seen the progression of many talented young athletes pass through our corridors. As a result, we have launched an official Sports Academy Program. The program aims to assist talented student athletes to achieve at the highest levels of performance in their various sports, and to help them with their personal education and vocational development.

Students are placed into our 7A (Academy) class which is a tailored class consisting of only Sports Academy students. Students in the program have extra time dedicated to the Sports Academy Program in their weekly timetable.

Students complete a tailored PE program during both practical and theory lessons, with a focus placed on athlete specific topics. Students still experience some elements of the ‘regular’ PE curriculum, however the large majority of PE is dedicated to the Academy Program.

Key Dates

At this time, we are still accepting Year 7, 2025 & 2026 College applications. We are also still accepting Year 7 2026, Sports Academy Application forms.

Salesian College Chadstone is a welcoming Catholic community renowned for its integrity and creative learning approaches that bring out the best in boys.

Our rich Salesian charism underpinned by the educational principles of founder, St John Bosco, provides the foundation of a future focused pedagogical vision: a boy will learn best in a home that welcomes, a parish that evangelises, a school that educates for life, and a playground where friends meet and enjoy themselves. Community, faith, learning and enjoyment are important aspects of a vibrant school life.

Relationships between a student and his teacher and peers is important in the development of a boy’s learning. St John Bosco’s spirit of leading young people to know that they are loved is fundamental to each boy. To reach his full potential, he needs to be supported in a safe and inclusive learning environment where the dignity of each person is nurtured and respected. Boys need people who believe in them and care for their needs.

As a Catholic school it is important that we focus on the holistic development of our young men as it helps them form their identity, build positive relationships and develop an optimistic approach to life.

I look forward to witnessing the Salesian students engage in their learning in Oratory, the classroom, on stage, behind a lectern, or on the sporting field as each provides an opportunity that educates for life.
