There is something very comforting in finding the Southern Cross in a sky crowded with constellations. For millennia the Southern Cross has guided and reassured the peoples of our land. The stars were and continue to be an important symbol for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, the first custodians of our ancient land. The Southern Cross has guided explorers and navigators and became a symbol of unity first for the miners of Eureka and then on our National Flag. For Australian Christians, the Southern Cross is a symbol of the Great South Land of the Holy Spirit.

Southern Cross Catholic College continues the rich and proud tradition of Catholic education on the Redcliffe Peninsula in providing a comprehensive education for our students from Prep to Year 12. The college comprises four campuses spanning the Peninsula from Woody Point to Scarborough and Kippa Ring. As a Lasallian College we celebrate and live the charism of St John Baptist De La Salle where we accept the invitation to make the loving and saving presence of Jesus Christ a visible and effective reality in the world of education, in the world of the young. Ultimately we are about faith leading to service which in turn builds authentic community.

I commend our Prospectus and our website as a valuable source of information for prospective families and invite parents to visit our college for a more personal experience.

Live Jesus in our hearts forever!

Chris Campbell

I thank you for visiting our website and discover?ing for yourself what an amazing place Southern Cross Catholic College really is.

For thousands of years, the Southern Cross has guided the people of our land. The Southern Cross is an important symbol for the Indigenous people of Australia, was vital for the early n??avigators as a directional sign and became an emblem of the European settlers, a symbol of independence and part of our official flag. For Australian Christians, the Southern Cross is a symbol of the Great South Land of the Holy Spirit.

Southern Cross Catholic College is a guiding light for the Redcliffe Peninsula and the wider Brisbane educational community. The College has a long and rich history, celebrated regularly and recognised in our four founders – St John Baptist de La Salle, Dr Daniel Delany, St Mary of the Cross MacKillop and Monsignor Bartholomew Frawley. The College also looks forward to an exciting future, building on the successes of the past and the achievements of the present.

This unique Catholic College provides a comprehensive education for students from Prep to Year 12. The College aims to maximize the abilities of all students by providing them with the opportunity to experience a myriad of subject and vocational choices, exciting extra-curricular activities, sporting opportunities, cultural experiences and much more. At the same time, students experience a true Catholic Christian community that provides the essential spiritual and pastoral necessities for all involved in our College.

Within this caring College community, students experience the advantage of moving smoothly through the four phases of learning (early, junior, middle and senior years) to post-compulsory education without changing schools. This allows for personal growth, leadership development and community participation in a consistent and safe environment. For parents, this means your child's transitions throughout their school lives are celebrated at each milestone and that all members of the community are valued as equal members of our College.

We look forward to welcoming you to Southern Cross Catholic College and encourage you to make contact if you have any questions or queries?.
