Julie Goodwin Each of my three boys went to St Peter's and each are as different as chalk and cheese. Each were treated as individuals and with dignity. They had a fruitfull school life and I am sure they will look back on this time with fondness.
Onya Maher On Monday my daughter had a orientation day at St Peter's for year 7 2017. The poor child was so worried and scared and nervous as knew only one boy. I would like to thank the school as Tia had a great day. When i picked her up was very excited.
Tia not only made a friend but organised to travel with her too school and home by train and bus. It was such a relief to have my daughter get in the car smiling and saying that she cant wait to go to school next year.
Ian Burke St Peter's is a caring and supportive environment. Lots of open spaces and great facilities. My two kids are very happy and feel very supported at St Peter's.
Bev Mylchreest As a parent of a student at this College, I cannot recommend it highly enough to any prospective parents. The staff go above and beyond to know each student as an individual and to meet their needs accordingly. Wonderful setting, great IT facilities and fantastic, regular communication between staff and parents. The new building works planned will be a wonderful addition to this already amazing school.
Mark Allan The school is EXCEPTIONAL. They have upgraded many areas in the school - carpets throughout for one and improving facilities for students and teachers is a priority of the school. They are building a new library and classrooms. Not only this, the academic achievements of the students, for example the 2015 HSC results, shows the dedication of the teachers to delivering quality education.
Rachell Kohl St Peter's is a fantastic school that provides a quality education. As a parent of three children attending the school, I would highly recommend St Peter's to anyone looking for a supportive, catholic education for their child.
Smassy Massy Wow! St Peter's are getting a whole new massive building for a new Library and a bunch of new classrooms. So much new stuff going on at St Peter's.

The HSC Distinguished Achievers list recognises students who achieved the highest band possible for one or more HSC courses or optional exams. We were proud to see our students achieve high results across a broad range of courses including:

Aboriginal Studies, Business Studies, Drama, English Extension 1, English Extension 2, Hospitality Examination, Industrial Technology, Mathematics Advanced, Music 1, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education, Physics, Studies of Religion I and Visual Arts.

Further 2023 HSC achievements include St Peter’s students nominated for HSC showcases including ArtExpress (Art) OnStage (Drama), Dance Callbacks, and Shape Exhibition (Industrial Technology).

We were also thrilled to announce that our former School Captain, Eden M, was officially selected for ARTEXPRESS 2024 for her incredible HSC Body of Work, ‘Unhappy Man! Do You Share My Madness?’, which saw Eden’s work displayed in the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

These incredible results are a testament to our student’s dedication to learning, and the College’s commitment to providing ‘Inspirational Learning for Aspirational Learners’.

My name is Ryan Adamson. I have recently started work at Taronga Zoo and was asked to write about how I was given the opportunity of this job.

Ryan Adamson 2017 full picture

I have always loved animals and have always dreamed of working at the zoo.

When I was 13 I joined, a program called ‘Youth At The Zoo’ or YATZ.

Ryan Adamson Taronga zoo work experience

This program was a huge step in my life and in getting a job at the zoo. YATZ is a youth volunteer program where teenagers are given the opportunity to gain experience in the zoo. In YATZ I have been given some amazing opportunities. There are some that definitely stand out, like the two times that I got to go down to Chiltern, a little town in Victoria to help in the release of zoo bred critically endangered regent honey eaters. At this camp, I met a lot of people who had the same passions as me and gave me a chance to start building my confidence. A few months later I was awarded a “BASIC” (the zoo award system the letters are a different category) I was given this for Accepting and taking responsibility. This all happened in my first year. From there I became a YATZ leader (the person who helps the newer YATZ and runs the Educational days). During year 10, I did work experience with the Australian mammals for one week. This was the same year that I won the zoo’s Youth Volunteer of the Year award and I was nominated for The Volunteering NSW award.

I was doing YATZ for about a year I when asked to speak at the world parks congress (a meeting of conservationist and national park rangers from all around the world) as part of a panel on how to get teens into conservation. It was not long after this that I could go to a Youth Leadership Camp which opened me up to the chance to help run a program called Youth Leading The World. While this was going on I had applied for a job at Taronga Zoo in which I got an interview but not the job as I lacked experience. To combat this I got a job at The Entrance cinema and worked there in conjunction with YATZ. This is about the same time that I started year 11 still at St Peter's Catholic College. In this year, as part of my HSC, I did a TAFE course of Certificate II in Animal studies through the Taronga Training Institute. The next time the job was advertised I was given a chance just for the holidays, but at the end of the holidays I was asked if I would be interested in staying on. I have now jumped at the chance.

I have been very fortunate to be able to follow my dream at such a young age.Always follow your dreams, no matter how many people tell you it won’t happen or to get a more realistic dream. If you want something badly enough work towards it, and don’t stop until you make it.
