Crest/ Logo

The crest of three white daisies looking toward the sun to symbolises ‘purity and modesty with their faces ever looking heavenward’ and Latin motto ‘in labore quies’ meaning ‘in work is the true rest of life’. The daisy serves as a reminder to our students to tilt their heads to the sun, and be proud and confident of the people that they have become.

At Toorak College you can learn without limitations or ceilings, you can stumble and understand we are behind you, you can be brave and push yourself outside of your comfort zone, you can be bold knowing that anything is possible and you can be yourself - proud of who you are.

As a leading school for nearly 150 years, we are proud of our heritage, attuned to our changing world, and focused on ensuring an exceptional education for future generations.

Far from just a place of learning, education takes many forms for our students. Be it social development, moral development or cognitive development, the journey our students travel is complex, varied and completely individual.

Situated on the coastline of Melbourne's picturesque Mornington Peninsula, Toorak College's bay views and state-of-the-art facilities provide the ideal learning environment for your child. As a leading school for over 145 years, we are proud of our heritage, attuned to our ever-changing world, and focused on ensuring an exceptional education for future generations.

Toorak College is an independent school from Early Learning to Year 12, with on-site boarding facilities. We are proudly co-educational from Early Learning until Year 4 and from Year 5 to Year 12 we take a girls-only approach.

At Toorak College we believe the best education is one that works towards developing the whole person, beyond their academic profile. Young people are faced with an array of challenges in their school lives and often need support and guidance in managing such challenges. At Toorak College we support all aspects of a young person’s functioning, including their emotional wellbeing and mental health.

Toorak College has a fantastic pastoral care system with supportive teaching staff and a thorough personal development curriculum. Toorak College has a school psychologist who supports the pastoral care system and specialises in mental health providing evidence-based psychological counseling to students who are impacted by mental health issues and providing guidance to staff and families who are also involved in supporting these young people.

Our guiding values are: Empower, Academic Growth, Personal Growth and Thrive.
To develop aspiring young people with confidence and character.
To empower our students through academic and personal growth so they thrive in their future.

Project Shine

At Toorak College, we recognise that a dynamic approach to teaching and learning is at the heart of success in every student’s learning journey. We strive to challenge and nurture every individual and develop independence, curiosity, and self-belief. We recognise that every child is different and that every year presents new challenges opportunities.

As a school, our expertise lies in our approach and understanding of learning, our development of curriculum, and our creation of opportunity. Project Shine is designed to take our students on a journey that allows them to truly capitalise on their potential, expand their world view, and find their place within it.

Project Shine is developed and designed around three priorities:

  • The social, moral, emotional and cognitive development of young people
  • The development of thinking and learning habits, and strategies over time
  • The necessary future skills and opportunities

It is comprised of four distinct approaches, each building on the previous;

Project Enlighten (Kindergarten-Pre-Prep) - Nurturing young learners develop their sense of self and connection to others while exploring the world around them.

Project Ignite (Prep-Year 6) - Challenging curious and developing minds through diverse learning experiences so they can discover what sparks their light.

Project Illuminate (Year 7-Year 9) - Empowering with knowledge and skills drive their ambition towards that which lights them from within.

Project Radiate (Year 10-Year 12) - Inspiring confidence and character in every girl leap fearlessly into their future and shine bright.
