Welcome to Nepean Christian School.

We are an oasis in Western Sydney, with an approach to seeing children flourish that just seems to set us apart. We believe in growing the whole child and not just ticking off educational outcomes. We promote inclusion and celebrate success, not just individualised competition.

We are a P-12 school, firmly grounded in Christian faith. We believe that we are not just educating children, but equipping them to be young men and women who make a difference to the world in which they live.

We are a rich, diverse, P to 12 learning community, where Christian faith permeates all aspects of school life, including how we bring learning to life and in the relationships that we share.

Our heart is to nurture all students, regardless of ability, skill or interest. At NCS, all students are loved and valued for who they are, not just what they can do.

Performing Arts and Music

Nepean Christian School has an enviable reputation in the arts, in particular music and drama. Students have specialist music lessons from Kindergarten and are issued with a concert band instrument (e.g. trombone, clarinet etc) in Year 4. They receive a year’s free tuition in that instrument. Those who continue are invited to join the school’s concert band in Year 5. Every second year the concert band tours parts of the nation, performing to schools and the general public.

When the school band is not on tour, we run a school musical, in which students from Year 5 to 12 are invited. Musicals have included: The Wizard of Oz, Shrek, Peter Pan, Into the Woods, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Mulan, Beauty and the Beast, Seussical and Honk.

Sport

For a small school we have a big sports program. We participate in regular interschool sport in teams such as soccer, basketball and netball. In addition, we send teams to a variety of gala days and selection trials. Students also have access to zone, state and national competition in swimming, athletics and cross country.

In high school we offer a broad range of leisure and recreational sports such as golf and mountain bike riding.

Duke of Edinburgh's International Award

Nepean Christian School is proud to offer The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, affording our students the opportunity to develop new skills, and expose them to experiences outside the classroom.

Students become eligible to participate in The Duke of Ed when they enter into Year 9 or are over the age of 14. The Award is a global framework for non-formal education and learning, which challenges young people to dream big, celebrate their achievements and make a difference in their world. Through developing universal and transferable skills, increasing their fitness levels, cultivating a sense of adventure and volunteering in their community, the Award inspires young people to take control, make their own choices and build their own unique programs, helping them to find their purpose, passion and place in the world.

For further details on The Award, please visit the Australian National website www.dukeofed.com.au

The Hive

The Hive is the heart of the school. Not only is it the place for many of our co-curricular clubs, but it has one of the best collections of children’s and young adult fiction. The library is open before and after school, as well as lunch. It’s definitely the place to be.

“It’s a joy to lead such a wonderful and vibrant community. I’d been involved in Christian schools for more than 30 years but coming to Nepean some years ago, was like coming home. We do things a little differently from other schools and that starts from the principal. I lead a community rather than run a school and that means my passion is for people over paper. I love getting amongst students and families, teaching, visiting classes and spending time in the playground. I’m also passionate about Christian faith and ensuring that everything that we do aligns with what we believe. I’m an absolute believer in growing students to be lifelong learners, community leaders and servant-hearted carers. The result is authentic and adventurous learning, in an environment where kids are loved and encouraged to be all that God has made them to be.”
