We are honoured to confirm that All Saints Grammar will be hosting the 2017 Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia National Schools Event commencing Wednesday May 3rd.
Over 300 students from seven Greek-Orthodox colleges all over Australia will be at Sydney’s bilingual college of All Saints Grammar, to take part in the National Schools Event 2017.
Students of St Andrew’s Grammar School (Perth), St George College (Adelaide), St John’s College, Oakleigh Grammar (Melbourne), St Euphemia College (Sydney) and St Spyridon College (Sydney) will join together for a three day event, to compete in a range of sports and arts competitions. As part of sport activities, students will participate in basketball, netball, indoor soccer, soccer, table tennis and volleyball.
All Saints Grammar Head of School, Mrs Elfa Lillis, states that it is with great honour for the College to be the proud host of the games that have been taking place every year since 1996. In fact on Thursday night May 4, All Saints Grammar will hold a commemorative dinner in honour of all the participants.
Furthermore, in preparation of the Creative Arts evening All Saints Grammar will honour the great writer Nikos Kazantzakis by paying tribute to his work with student performances.
This event started in 1996, when Mr Peter Meintanis set out on a bus to go to St John’s College to play their first soccer game. Since 1996 this gesture has evolved into a nationally recognised and colourful event.
